Service Description

Since the pandemic more children and teens are showing signs of PTSD. As adults, we can potentially understand from a cognitive space what has happened. Children's cognitive skills are less developed than those of adults and primarily operate from a felt and observational sense. You may have noticed more children in your classes that are presenting as ADHD or get agitated very quickly, possibly getting angry, aggressive or completely shut down and passive. Understanding trauma, how it presents and how to work with it, is key to offering yoga to children at this time. By deepening your understanding of how trauma affects body and mind, you will be able to better support children. The workshop will cover the following topics: How our nervous system reacts to triggers How to work with trauma using 5 key elements of trauma sensitive yoga How to help children self regulate How to empower children With extensive experience working and sharing yoga with children and teens, Soraya and Ayala have put together this unique one day new workshop which will equip you with tools to support children you work with. Upon completion of the workshop you will receive a certificate accrediting you with 5 CPD points. This workshop is suitable for yoga teachers, children yoga teachers, occupational therapists, school teachers and other professionals who are working with children and have been practicing yoga themselves. Soraya has been working with yoga for children for 17 years and for last 3 years offers trauma sensitive yoga as an adjunctive treatment to C-PTSD & PTSD (see Ayala is a yoga therapist who has been working with children, teens and families for the past two decades and recently have created yoga therapy program for children and teens with ADHD in schools (see Investment - £120 Early Bird (ends September 30, 2023) - £108 For additional information please contact or
